The BMW X1 is a compact SUV with seating for five people. Powered by a choice of turbocharged 4- and 6-cylinder engines with up to 300 hp, optionally driving all-wheels through automatic transmissions, the X1 offers excellent performance and handling, albeit at the cost of ride quality. Inside, the X1 is well-built and larger than its compact dimensions suggest, but limited in trunk space.
