The Chevrolet Avalanche combines the comfortable interior of an SUV with the versatility of a pickup truck. Based on the Chevy Silverado 1500, the Avalanche features seating for up to six in a roomy interior that is larger than usual crew cab cabins. Especially the rear seat benefits from the added space. The cargo bed on the other hand is smaller than a pickup's, but thanks to the practical mid-gate, a part of the interior can be used to extend the loading bay. In addition, the Chevy Avalanche can tow up to 8,100 lbs. thanks to a 5.3-liter V8 that offers adequate performance. Optional all-wheel-drive, a comfortable ride and over nine inches of ground clearance further add to this vehicle's appeal.
Changes for 2012
For 2012, the Chevrolet Avalanche's stability control system includes electronic trailer sway control and hill start assist, while a new hard-drive navigation radio with CD-player, USB port, Time Shift Recording and SiriusXM Weather Service capability is available. Chevrolet Avalanche LTZ models come standard equipped with a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel and LT models feature standard heated seats.

The Chevrolet Avalanche LS comes standard with dual-zone air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, cloth seat-upholstery, 8-way front bucket seats, split-folding bench rear seat, tilting steering-wheel, AM/FM/Satellite radio with CD-player, internet access, wireless connectivity, ABS, stability control, front airbags, front side airbags, side-curtain airbags, tire-pressure monitor, emergency communication system and trailering hitch.
