The Chevrolet Equinox is a compact SUV with seating for five in a spacious and upscale cabin. The Equinox comes powered by a base 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with 182 hp, while a 3-liter V6 with 264 hp is available on higher trims. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and feature optional all-wheel-drive. Changes for 2012
For 2012, the Chevrolet Equinox adds more standard features, including a rear-view camera on 1LT models, a seven-inch touch screen radio on all but LS models, and Bluetooth for phone on LS models. In addition, the 4-cylinder engine is now also available with FlexFuel capability. New options include Chevrolet MyLink Connectivity, as well as Lane departure warning and forward collision alert on LTZ models. The 2012 Chevrolet Equinox SUV is available in 8 trim levels. The Chevrolet Equinox LS comes standard with air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, cloth seat-upholstery, 6-way driver bucket seat, 4-way passenger bucket seat, split-folding bench rear seat, tilting and telescoping steering-wheel, AM/FM/Satellite radio with CD-player, internet access, wireless connectivity, ABS, stability control, front airbags, front side airbags, side-curtain airbags, tire-pressure monitor and emergency communication system. Features available on other trims include automatic air conditioning, leather seat-upholstery, power driver-seat adjustments, heated front seats, memory driver seat and parking assist.
