Changes for 2016
The Ford Explorer receives a major refresh for 2016 that includes new headlights, grille, and bumper, as well as an updated center stack. The former 2.0-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder is replaced by a 2.3-liter unit with 280 hp, while a Platinum trim features high-level interior materials, multi-contour seats, a 500-watt Sony Audio System, automatic parking assist, lane-keeping system and rain-sensing wipers.

The Ford Explorer comes standard with front and rear air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, cloth seat-upholstery, 8-way driver bucket seat, 4-way passenger bucket seat, split-folding bench rear seat, split-folding third-row bench seat, tilting and telescoping steering-wheel, AM/FM radio with CD-player, wireless connectivity, ABS, stability control, front airbags, front side airbags, side-curtain airbags, knee airbag, tire-pressure monitor, emergency communication system and parking assist.
