The Hyundai Tucson is a handsome compact crossover SUV that seats five in a stylish, roomy, and well-equipped cabin. The Tucson lives up to its sporty styling with nimble handling, but could use more powerful engines. The base 2.0-liter 4-cylinder produces 161 hp and offers only moderate performance. It is joined by a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with slightly more power (181 hp) and good fuel-economy. Both engines are available with all-wheel-drive and come mated to 6-speed automatic transmissions.
