With looks inspired by the 1949 GMC Suburban, the all-new 2006 HHR is Chevy's answer to the similarly retro-styled Chrysler PT Cruiser. A crossover between a car and an SUV, the Chevrolet HHR offers the interior space of a compact SUV combined with the ride-height and handling of a sedan.
The 2006 Chevrolet HHR comes in two versions, the base "LS", and the better equipped "LT". Standard features on all models include 215/55 SR16 all-season tires, air-conditioning, cloth seat-upholstery, cruise control, in-dash CD player, power windows, and a vehicle security system. The "LT"-model adds an 8-way power driver's seat, alloy wheels, and MP3-player. Except for the legally required seat-belts and front airbags, safety features like anti-lock brakes, side-impact curtain airbags, OnStar, and traction control (standard with automatic transmission) have to be paid for separately.
The 2006 Chevrolet HHR Compact CUV compares to the Chrysler PT Cruiser, Honda Element, Pontiac Vibe, Scion xB, and Toyota Matrix.
