Significantly revised for the 2006 model year, the Chevrolet Impala gets new exterior and interior styling, and two new V6 engines with variable valve timing. The high-performance 2006 Impala SS features a 5.3l V8 with cylinder deactivation.
Standard features on all models now include an 8-way power driver's seat with manual lumbar support, cruise control, in-dash CD-player, rear cupholders, and a service interval indicator. Passive safety is enhanced by standard side-impact curtain airbags on all versions, while anti-lock brakes remain only an option with lower equipment levels.
The 2006 Chevrolet Impala Full-Size Sedan compares to the Buick Lucerne, Chrysler 300, Ford Five Hundred, Hyundai Azera, Mercury Grand Marquis, and Toyota Avalon.
