The Toyota 4Runner is a mid-size SUV offering excellent off-road capability, as well as a versatile interior with standard seating for five. The available third row seats two more passengers. All Toyota 4Runner models come powered by a 4.0-liter V6 driving the rear wheels through a 5-speed automatic. Four-wheel-drive is an option.
Changes for 2020
The Toyota 4Runner comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense P and receives an upgraded multimedia system for 2020 that features an 8-inch touchscreen display, as well as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa compatibility. Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P) is a suite of advanced safety features that includes Forward Collision Mitigation with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning with Sway Warning System, Automatic High Beams, and Adaptive Cruise Control. In addition, SR5 Premium, TRD Off-Road Premium, and 4Runner TRD Pro trims gain Smart Key with push-button start, while the 4Runner TRD Pro also gets a TRD-branded cat-back exhaust.

The Toyota 4Runner SR5 comes standard with air conditioning, adaptive cruise control, power windows, cloth seat-upholstery, 8-way power driver bucket seat, 4-way passenger bucket seat, split-folding bench rear seat, tilting and telescoping steering-wheel, AM/FM/HD/Satellite radio, internet access, wireless connectivity, ABS, stability control, front airbags, front side airbags, side-curtain airbags, knee airbag, tire-pressure monitor, emergency communication system, lane-departure warning, parking assist and trailering hitch.
Features available on other trims include dual-zone automatic air conditioning, navigation system, power sunroof, keyless entry, leather seat-upholstery, heated front seats, ventilated front seats, memory front seats and power passenger seat adjustments.
